Chris' passion for fitness began back when he started playing football at Cardinal O’Hara high school and in college at Delaware Valley University. Being on the field and in the weight room allowed the opportunity to learn ways to destress, to build size and strength and to maximize his potential both academically and on the football field. In fact, that mind and body synergy intrigued him so much that he switched undergraduate major from marketing/business management to Exercise science/Education.
Although Chris was a shy and somewhat introverted child, entering the physical education/Kinesiology field allowed him to open up more, to learn to speak in front of large groups, which provided the tools he needed to help others learn all the gifts that the human possesses.
Fast forwarding to the present day, Chris have been an elementary school physical education teacher in the Marple Newtown SD for 18 years, coached football for 11 seasons at the middle school level and advanced my career with a M. Ed in school counseling and a certificate in Educational Leadership. Back in 2015, he was looking for a fun summer part time job to earn a couple extra bucks while heading to the jersey shore on the weekends. This led me to the Philadelphia Country club, where he worked as both a group fitness instructor, an ACSM and ACE certified personal trainer …. working with people of all ages, from 7-year-olds to my oldest client who was 86 at the time. Chris also branched out and became a lead summer camp counselor at the country club, which allowed me to combine my skills of teaching and in the fitness field. These experiences are all what helped him build my toolbox for what he has achieved today.
Chris is still actively teaching in year 20 with K-5 children, but after school and on the weekends, you will find him at his second home…our new fitness studio Mainline Personal Training (MLPT). This studio was built as a safe haven for all to come and experience success in physical fitness, whether you are brand new to exercise, a seasoned athlete looking for supplemental training, trying to lose a little body fat while building healthy muscle or rehabbing an injury…we are here to help. As one of the owners of MLPT, it was important to Chris that attention must be focused on helping everyone in need, not being athlete specific or sports training.
There is truly something special about witnessing the transformation of an individual right before your eyes over time and with hard work.
Chris says, “Every day I come home after working with my students and clients, my heart is full, and I am content because I know that I am doing my best to make a difference in other people lives!”
